This is my first blog page. My life is not so exciting that I have something fun to post every day. I post as I have things to share. Maybe in the future I will have more to share more often but for now it will be a bit random.

Rachel's gift
Rachel has talked about getting her hair cut for locks of love every since her sister Becka did a year or so ago. So while they were here in Ca. Rachel decided she would go for it. If you don't know anything about locks for love it is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. (got that right off their website www.locksoflove.org) Anyway Rachel's hair is down to her bottom. So for her to give 10 inches for locks of love, she would still have long hair. She actually had more like 12 inches cut off since about an inch they couldn't use because of split ends and the about an inch to complete the cut/style. She has been growing her hair for a long time and was a bit nervous about getting it cut.
When I told her I wanted a picture of her holding her hair that was cut off she said "No I don't want to see it." However I told her we need to send in a picture with the hair so locks of love will have a face to go along with the hair.
Here she is holding the hair they cut off that will go to locks of love to be made into a hairpiece.

Trip to the Beach
This picture is of them getting ready to get their feet wet.
This is my sister-in-law Teresa also playing in the water with the kids.
The kids loved the beach and when we told them we had to leave Jake said "I don't want to go."

Kaisi & Marc's Wedding
The happy couple just coming out of the temple.
This is my sister and most of her family. One son was not at the wedding.
This is of the bride's family with grandparents.
This is a picture of my parents in front of the Temple.
Now for some fun pictures from the reception.
First Dance
I didn't get a picture of the bouquet toss but I did get this video of the groom retrieving the garter.
And here are a couple videos I just had to post on my blog of my dad dancing. Keep in mind this is a mormon wedding so no alcohol was served or consumed.
Until the next adventure...

This weekend I made a quick trip to
The weather made my plans difficult due to the need to drive over the Sierra's. I had planned on leaving on Friday but the forecast was showing snow that day and all weekend. We need the water so I had very mixed feelings about the storm. I wanted to be able to get to my Aunts sealing and so didn’t want it to snow in the mountains but at the same time we really need the water so I did want it to snow.
I took off work Thursday so that I could leave that day since we had a break in the storms which allowed me to drive over the mountains just fine. Now when I say I took the day off what I really mean is since I work grave shift and I worked Wednesday night I got off work Thursday morning at 9:00 am and left on my trip right after work. I usually would have had to work Thursday night but that was what I took off in order to leave Thursday morning. Yes that meant that I got up for the day Wednesday night and didn't sleep again until Thursday night about 24 hours later.
I had a good drive Thursday even though it was across
I admit I was a bit tired driving and because I was tired there are some signs on the side of the road that I have only ever seen in Utah. These signs say something like drowsy drivers take next exit. Fatigue then a circle with a slash symbol driving. I wish I had stopped to take a picture but I didn't have my camera in the front seat with me. These signs are kind of funny because as a tired driver that I was after seeing them I started to wonder if they were really there or if I was just seeing them because I was tired. It's a strange feeling to not believing what you are seeing. Let me reassure you that they are in fact there on the side of the road. I saw them again on my way out of Utah, not the same signs but some just like them on the I-15 headed south.
It was fun being around family for the few days I was in
For my trip back home the weather was still a factor and getting back across the Sierra’s was still going to be a problem. I decided to drive down south and go around the higher mountains to get back to
On the I-15 freeway I ran into traffic in
Don’t ask why I didn’t fly. Although it took me a long time to travel it only cost me $154.85 in gas a lot cheaper than flying. What with all the planes that seem to be having trouble I think my driving is a lot safer.
